Can anyone who uses SoftCom comment on them? They seem to offer NT hosting for a low price with unlimited bandwidth.

We we're considering moving Host Investigator to Softcomca over a year ago. However we just setup an IP account first, setup took 36 hours, which rather long. However everything was setup correctly and the control panel is very handy. However we we're having problems with ASP and VBCGI so we never actually transferred to them. Overall an honest company, with perhaps a few problems, you get what you pay and they bill you correctly.

My brother setup an account with them and found out they only supply you with POP accounts and not SMTP. To me that totally sucks. Sending email is a must.

There are very few hosting providers that provide SMTP, this is to ensure the security and speed of the servers. Use you ISP for smtp.

I've used them for 2 years. They are decent, but I've had my site go down for hours at a time. Luckily, this hasn't happened lately. My only current complaint is that they don't support perl, php or coldfusion.
