Is this good news? I hope they turn aletia around, cause the way aletia has been going lately they were headed for bankruptcy. Looks like they did the smart thing and sold! Good riddance old owners and welcome JaguarPC!

BTW
Just a note, so the usual idiots don't post "We already knew this"...... I know this was already announced here yesterday, just wanted to post the e-mail I got, which is the first official statement that Jaguar has made (uh, I think).

best of luck with the deal Greg. I've always held JagPC is pretty high regard, so I know you guys will give Aletia's customers the attention they've been needing for a while now.

I still wonder about a highly reputable host digging the bottom of the barrel. I mean, how would we all view VO if they bought Cyberwings or imhosted.com?
Look at HP. They bought Compaq, but Compaq wasn't a bad company. Other unions form all the time between companies. Here's another, NEC and Mitsubishi... but they were BOTH reputable companies.
I'm just throwing this out for some thoughts on it. From what I've read here, JaguarPC seems like a good host, and hopefully they will bring Aletia up to their level. If they do, then I agree it's a good thing.
On the other hand, for an example more related to the hosting industry, look at deru (who bought Weinbar). Because of the bad experience people had with Weinbar, I'm sure many are afraid to go with the new owner, Deru.

This is the same thing we aimed for. Its hard to sit by and watch clients literally complaining ina few new posts everyday about Aletia. Btw, there has not been one negative post on here since we took over. Im not saying there won't be one but there hasnt been one yet. We are working hard and fast to get to everyeon we can as fast as we can but with some complaints going back a few months there are bound to be some people that need to get things off their chest.
Aletia once had a reputation equal to ours and it will again.Greg Landis | Director of Growth Jaguarpc - Unlock Superior Hosting with JaguarPC

Good hosts buy out bad hosts. It makes good sense really. I'd imagine you'd get a better deal on a sinking ship than one that's floating well. Once you cork the holes and fix the sails you end up with a fine vessel again
hmm quite a nautical theme to this post
