My guess is that this is the response to some of the craps that webhostingtalk.com has received. It is also my guess that if enough members report a certain post, its warning level will increases.

Hopefully Headsurfer can clarify this for us.

I'd say it also has something to do with banning certian folks from posting in certian forums [request forum etc]. By setting a variable to their username, you can control where they can and cannot post.

This warning system was obviously bought in because of trouble makers like SoftwareRevue. Spoiled it for all of us.

If I knew what it was about, I'd surely argue against it.

It is for the moderators really, not a big change as far as members are concerned.

Then why not make a conditional so only mods see it

Or better yet, have it unseen to members until it actually gets to one or above..

So if a user has no warnings, it doesn't show up..

nah it would be useful for people to see the reputation of people making comments. similar to the way you take post count into consideration in certain circumstances.

im not gonna confirm it yet, because there will probably be a nice big message going around, but...

    Let the warnings commence...

new rule will be added shortly "Moderators can warn members at their own discression"

The Warn system was suggested by a couple of teh moderators. Once we have it all going and working as proposed, one of the moderators will make an announcement about how it will all work. It should allow the mods to keep an easier eye on things and also be easier to find trouble with everyone looking out for it.

Oh I'm sure I will be...

But... As I always say, its always better to be warned than ignored... Which of course I don't do...
